Dr. Theo Tanner

Theo achieved his undergraduate MChem degree at the University of York, before joining the Fairlamb group to pursue his Ph.D. Jointly supervised by Prof. Fairlamb, Prof. Slattery and Prof. Lynam, Theo’s project is focused on exploring the mechanism of the cobalt-mediated Pauson-Khand reaction, employing descriptor-based methods, density functional theory, and in-situ IR measurements to obtain mechanistic information. His wider research interests include innovative data analysis and visualisation using R and Python.

Dr. David Husbands

David obtained his MChem degree from the University of Durham in 2019, working with Dr. James Walton on ruthenium chemistry. David is currently doing a PhD with GSK (iCASE award from the EPSRC), looking at palladium pre-catalyst activation and reaction mechanisms. This is done by use of in situ IR measurements, kinetic analysis and NMR experiments. David is also a dab hand at Density Functional Theory within the group, and bakes a fantastic apple cake.
